From: The Old Black Church! (What happen to the Black Church?) CBN has issued the following statement regarding remarks made by Pat Robertson on the May 15th episode of The 700 Club: "In Wednesday's Bring It On segment, Dr. Robertson was answering a specific viewer?s question who was having extreme difficulty forgiving after her husband cheated on her. As a first step in the process, Dr. Robertson stated that she should stop dwelling on the cheating. Next, he recommended that she remind herself of all the reasons she fell in love with him in the first place so that she might try to fall back in love with him all over again. Lastly, his point was that everyone is human and there is much temptation outside of the home, so she should do whatever she can to strengthen their home and relationship. His intent was not to condone infidelity or to cast blame. We regret any misunderstanding." Pat's latest mess here!

From: the field negro President Obama was at Dr. King's alma mater today, and he had some strong words for the young men there.Someof you Negroes are saying that he was just having a Sistah Souljah moment at the expense of the Morehouse men, and that he isalways airing black folk's dirty laundrywhen he speaks to a large black group.I have torespectfully disagree. That message the president sent today was on point and it needed to be delivered. "Obama spoke in very personal terms to the 500 young men as he urged them to not only become leaders in their community, but also good fathers and good husbands. Obama, who was raised by a single mother and grandparents, lamented the absence of his father in his life and urged the graduates to make family their top priority. Obama told the Morehouse men they are also obliged to set an example for other black men. "Keep setting an example for what it means to be a man," Obama said. "Be the best husband to your wife, or boyfriend to your partner,

And for mepersonally the use ofanointingoil is one of the things, I find myselffrowningupon. I trulybelievewhen Jesus stood up in the synagogue and said: ?The Spirit of the Lord has anointed me.? That act initselfremoved the physical oil completely from the equation and reduced the anointing to its spiritual significance. So, in other words if one is Holy Ghost fill he/she has become the one who's anointed to do the work and not the oil. I tell you what, thefoolishness that portrayed in these reality shows of the Christian faith is.........weird,strange,bizarre, and justdownrightoutlandish. It's not a surprise at all. If you have seen any of their adverts, their products etc you'd be pretty fully aware that they are a no fat people store.Via facebook I saw that there is an Occupy AF thing going on and I have so many problems with this I couldn't fit it all into a facebook comment.Buckle your seatbelts. From the facebook page:>We can't change their business practices, and we can't (and don't want to) force them to make larger sizes. We CAN let them know that bullying is unacceptable, and we CAN change the rarified atmosphere in their store. This is NOT a "protest". Please do not bring signs, signs, or chant. Just go to Abercrombie and Fitch with as many large, unpopular, or possibly just level-headed people that you know, and shop. Try things on that don't fit. Don't buy anything.
From: The Black Snob Feed Yup. Yours truly, along with Francesca Ramsey, Patrice Grell Yursik (aka Afrobella), Awesomely Luvvie, Angela Yee, Necole Bitchie and many more were all honored by sites Hello Beautiful and Black Planet for being among the 25 Women to Watch in 2013. Last year (and this year) have been quite the years for the ol' Snob as I wound up in all sorts of places: editor-at-large for Clutch Magazine Online, quoted in Ms. Magazine, head writer of a TV show (that sadly was cancelled, waaaaaaaah!), a regular on NPR (Happy Birthday, Michel Martin of Tell Me More!), I'm writing a book (as always), I'm writing a TV pilot (that's new!) and I'm, as always, doing media appearances on any and everything while staying on my grind. It's not a bad life. So far I've managed to keep afloat without completely burning out, resorting to hysterics or starting a new life making my "livin's" viacasino theme games.(Perhaps ones involving Spades as that's the only card game I know besides UNO and Go Fish.

Get out of your feelings, #Scandal is fiction. Great fiction but...

From: Black 'n Bougie After EVERY episode... Spoiler alert - if you haven't watched the season finale of Scandal, stop reading. Go watch it. Come back. Ummkay? Last Scandal post for a while. We ready? Okay... Good people, I'll say this one more time for the cheap seats - Scandal is not a way of life, a reality show or anything deeper than a primetime drama.
